What Does It Mean to Be a B Corp?
B Corp certification is awarded to businesses that meet the highest standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. Unlike other accreditations, the B Corp assessment is rigorous, measuring a company’s impact across five key areas: Governance, Workers, Community, Environment, and Customers.
Only companies that score at least 80 points earn certification, and with a score of 99.3, we have demonstrated our deep-rooted dedication to doing business the right way.
Why Is a Score of 99.3 So Impressive?
The B Corp certification process is incredibly thorough, assessing everything from employee benefits and supply chain practices to ethical business operations and community engagement. To put it into perspective:
- The average score for businesses that apply is around 50, meaning many do not qualify.
- The minimum threshold for certification is 80 points.
- A score of 99.3 places A&S Landscape well above the required standard, reinforcing our commitment to responsible business practices.
How Did We Achieve This?
Earning B Corp status was no small feat, and we are incredibly proud of what this represents. Some of the key factors that contributed to our high score include:
- Employee Wellbeing – Strong workplace policies that support our team’s growth, wellbeing, and work-life balance. We are also proud to be a Great Place to Work accredited company, recognising our dedication to fostering a positive and supportive workplace culture.
- Community Engagement – Ongoing efforts to give back through charitable initiatives and working with socially responsible suppliers. One of our key initiatives is our Community Recycle Scheme, which donates surplus materials and equipment to schools across the UK, reducing waste and supporting education.
- Transparency and Accountability – A commitment to ethical business practices and ensuring that every aspect of our operations aligns with our values.
- Client Stewardship – We take great pride in ensuring we provide the right solutions for our clients, offering expert guidance and bespoke designs that meet their unique needs. Our focus is always on long-term value, helping organisations create environments that truly benefit their communities.
