Abraham Moss Community School in Manchester Install a Large Dining Canopy on their Playground
The new dining canopy at Abraham Moss School in Manchester has been well received by pupils and staff at the school. The canopy has more than satisfied the school’s capacity needs, providing dining space that could comfortably accommodate their growing pupil intake.

What was the project brief?
Abraham Moss Community School in Crumpsall, Manchester, were in need of additional dining space, and reached out to A&S Landscape for an outdoor solution. The school had a large space to work with and were looking to cover over 150 pupils, so they were excited to collaborate with our consultants to build an Exceptional Covered Space™.
What were our shelter solutions?
The final design features our expansive Motiva Duo™ canopy, measuring 20000mm X 10000mm. The school opted for a simplistic look, using an Anthracite Grey Duracoat™, for a chip-resistant colour that also protects against rust and corrosion. For the roof, our popular Opal polycarbonate roofing was used, which is extremely durable, and amplifies light. The finished design provides ample shelter for up to 240 students to socialise and dine, and the space could also be used to host events for the school and the local community.
About the client
Abraham Moss Community School is an all-through school that is part of The Dean Trust. Their Headteacher, Mrs Josette Arnold, explains that the school has over 1800 pupils from Reception to Year 11, of which enjoy a broad, aspirational and enriching curriculum to provide their pupils with the best possible opportunities. The school have top of the range facilities, and the building features modern architecture which is complimented by our canopies.
