Djanogly North Gate Academy have created a lovely seating area, which is like a small booth. The roof is striking and colourful with bright polycarbonate panels, creating a fun and sheltered space for children to sit and eat or just relax and take in the fresh air. In fact, they could even do some work here if they wanted to!
The children are delighted to have a new outdoor area to enjoy, they are even more keen to be outside. They can eat in this area, or just sit and chat, relax or just have some quiet time. They can shade from the sunshine under the bright new canopy, or they can seek refuge from the wet weather. How lovely to have a purpose-built space for the children to enjoy all year round, we love it!
From Shade Sails, Umbrellas and Tepees, to straight or curved roof steel canopies, A&S Landscape has a range which is sure to offer you something special. Feel free to look through our gallery, which has more than 1500 images to inspire you.
There are lots of recognised benefits to alfresco dining as a part of the school day. As children spend the majority of the day in a classroom environment, it is integral that they are given time to breathe at lunchtime. In spending this break in the fresh air, it not only provides a relaxing environment but can also decrease levels of hyperactivity in a pupil. If a student is directed to spend their break inside, it can mirror the classroom setting and stop them from taking a suitable amount of time to relax. Outdoor dining is also a really sociable activity, unrestricted by the dining hall environment young people can mix with different year groups easily.
Over on our blog you can learn how schools can help their students to dine alfresco regularly – click here.
