Greentrees Primary School Enjoy Playground Tepee in Bishopdown

Greentrees Primary School is an outstanding primary school in Salisbury and it says the following of itself “Greentrees is a vibrant, outstanding school where we truly believe that learning should be fun. We aim to create a happy environment where all children can thrive and achieve success.” It was the chance to enjoy the outdoor environment which led the school to investigate the options for adding a playground canopy.

With more than 40 years’ experience and hundreds of happy schools under their belt, A&S Landscape knew that they would have just the right product for Greentrees Primary School. The Maxima Tepee was selected as the best solution and we installed the canopy at a size of 6000mm x 6000mm. The datasheet for this design can be downloaded on our website for free. It was completed with waterproof PVC fabric. The posts were Grey (RAL 7037) and the fabric roofing was Green (RAL 6016). See more in our colour range.

How the social and emotional development of children is impacted by regularly playing outside

A common but under-researched realm of social and emotional development in children is appreciating the importance of spending time outside and how substantial the effects are. For such a vital component of childhood, the gaps in research here are somewhat staggering. Not least because, the research that currently exists indicates that there is unmistakable evidence that outdoor time, like outdoor play, or outdoor classrooms, has a considerable positive impact on a child’s social and emotional development. These developing studies come from various disciplines using a wide range of approaches that all lead to the same stance.

The resulting canopy looks very striking, adding a very modern statement to the playground. The children are keen to use it for playtimes and lesson times and the school said the following “Fabulous, we are very happy. The children are delighted with the canopy and used it in the brief spell of sunny weather as well as on a couple of rainy days!” We also installed fabric tepee canopy at Rhiwbeina Primary School in Cardiff.

Freestanding Straight Roof Shelters Added to Northgate Primary School

In collaboration with our building contractor client our engineers produced roofing to canopies for Northgate Primary School, Northgate, Bridgewater, Somerset. Fabric Green Umbrella Canopy Designed for Ashcott Playing Fields

Working alongside this prestigious client A&S constructed a playground umbrella in Ashcott Playing Fields Ashcott, Somerset. The contract included one Maxima™ waterproof Umbrella structure supported on a single upright measuring 4000mm X 4000mm.

In combination with our building contractor client our engineers created a straight polycarbonate roof canopy in Bridgwater College Academy, Parkway, Bridgwater, Somerset. The job involved the supply and installation of one Motiva™ monopitch straight roof canopy and included for our Alu-Tuff™ aluminium box profile guttering and downpipes in matching Dura-coat™ colour finish.

Innovation Centre Create Outdoor Shade with Polycarbonate Canopy

In combination with a well known architect our engineers designed a straight polycarbonate roof canopy for Innovation Centre, The Bath And West Showground, Shepton Mallet, Somerset.
