Larchfield School in Maidenhead Adds Multiple Canopies

Staff at the school in Maidenhead had previously been impressed with our services. The addition of two more canopies to the entrance and playground of their school has further enhanced their facilities, providing staff, parents, and pupils with shelter from harsh weathers all year round.

What was the project brief?

Larchfield School in Maidenhead were looking to install a variety of canopies to enhance their outdoor area and provide sheltered spaces that would enable students to enjoy the space throughout the year. The staff wanted the canopies to have a fun design that was fit for a children’s playground, but didn’t want this to compromise the durability and functionality of the canopy – and having previously been impressed with our services, they returned to us for our expert advice.

What was our school canopy solution?

Our helpful A&S Landscape team have worked with a wide range of schools and use their specialist knowledge to evaluate the school’s needs to design the best canopy solution. Upon discussion, our Motiva Wave™ canopy was chosen for the playground, with a Motiva Mono™ canopy to frame their entrance. Both products benefit from our solid steel framework and robust polycarbonate roof – providing the school with the quality and longevity they were seeking.

Additionally, both designs also perform aesthetically, with our funky Motiva Wave™ roof adding a fun feature to the playground, and our Motiva Mono™ providing a smart and uniform look to the front of the school. We have a wide range of colours available to match your personal taste, vision, and branding – in this case the school chose a Gentian Blue (Ral 5010) Duracoat™, with an Opal polycarbonate roof for all of their canopies to achieve a cohesive look.

What was the result of their new school shelters?

Larchfield Primary and Nursery School were looking to install a range of outdoor canopies, for the benefit of encouraging and facilitating outdoor play in all weathers – and our Motiva Wave™ delivered. Meanwhile, the entrance canopy has proved very effective in sheltering the entrance of the school, whilst also creating a distinctive frame around the doorway that highlights to the new-starters, parents, and young children where to find their way in.

About the client

Larchfield Nursery and Primary School are a diverse and inclusive community school, with pupils from the age of 3-11 years old. They have over 200 pupils who they aim to support and develop into independent, resilient individuals prepared for their next stages in life. Those at the school live by three core values: being safe, responsible, and respectful.
