NOA’s Ark Nursery is a beautiful, newly built nursery in Banbury in North Oxfordshire. It has an environmentally friendly building and a spacious garden for the children to enjoy.

The children and babies who attend have the chance to explore the world around them and develop their full potential in a safe and nurturing environment. Whilst the garden area is large and has all the activities that the children could wish for, including sand, water, toys and reading areas, it was missing one thing … some shade on the hottest days and some shelter on the wettest days.
Our wellbeing is detrimentally affected by not getting sufficient exercise, causing increasing numbers of obesity in children and adolescents. Children are not playing outside as much as they have done in the past, curbing their contact with sunlight and thus the creation of Vitamin D which helps to battle infection and keeps skin healthy. Sunlight also helps to manage the formation of melatonin which regulates sleep. Electronic devices emit harmful blue light, which can cause headaches and eye strain. Blue light in the evenings can even limit the formation of melatonin, which in turn can make going to sleep very hard for some children.
So what is the answer to this slippery slope that we find ourselves on… more time outside!
See how schools can help their pupils spend more time outdoors over on our blog.
When the nursery approached A&S Landscape, we knew that we had just the solution because we have been working with schools to transform their outdoor areas for more than 40 years.
The canopy chosen came from our Maxima range. It comprised a Yellow shade sail, installed on five posts which were Signal Green (RAL 6032). The resulting structure is large, bright, water and UV proof and creates a wonderful new area for the children. Rain will no longer stop play and there is no need to limit outdoor time on the hottest days either.
“Overall I was left with an excellent impression A&S Landscape and would use and recommend to others.”

All our products are high-quality, commercial-grade and this means that the canopy will be enjoyed for many years to come.
