Milking Bank Primary School in Dudley Install Large Cantilever Canopy

What Was The Project Brief?

The school has a commitment to the development of their pupils in a happy, secure environment. They place high importance on not just the intellectual growth of their children, but also the emotional, social and physical development. So Milking Bank Primary School wanted to explore how they could optimise their outdoor space to contribute to these aims. With a fairly large area in mind located directly outside the main school building they contacted A&S Landscape for our expert input.

What Was Our Cantilever Canopy Solution?

The school wanted to cover an area at the side of an existing building. Because of the existence of doors and windows in the area identified, A&S Landscape recommended the installation of their Motiva Cantilever™ canopy. This is a fabulous product for spaces like this because other shelter types can create restrictions due to the positioning of the upright steel canopy poles.

Finished in a Red (RAL 3030) steel, the new structure matched in with all of the existing school railings and other fixtures. The roof was finished with clear polycarbonate sections, allowing light to flood into the existing windows and doors.

The Motiva Cantilever™ product is a really practical and popular option, not only for playground shelters but also for covered walkways. With the addition of gutters and downpipes on larger structures, rainwater run-off is easily managed, and means that this low maintenance option will provide years of shelter.

What Was The Result Of Their Canopy?

The end result of the Milking Bank Primary School cantilever canopy was a really functional covered area in their playground. With enough room beneath for outdoor play, it’s also a useful space for the children to learn outside too.

About The Client

In its 30 plus year history, Milking Bank Primary School has been a central focus for learning in this Dudley suburb. Over that time, it has shared its motto with children from the local area and encouraged them, ‘To go further than I thought; to run faster than I hoped; to reach higher than I dreamed’. A recipient of the Leading Parent Partnership Award, the school fosters a supportive culture that encourages parents to be at the centre of their children’s learning.

The full contract involved one Motiva™ monopitch straight roof canopy measuring 8820mm x 4000mm including for coloured polycarbonate and included for our Alu-Tuff™ aluminium box profile guttering and downpipes in matching Dura-coat™ colour finish.

Jesson’s C of E Primary School Add Enclosed Shelter with Side Panels

Working with our contractor client we designed a straight polycarbonate roof canopy with side panels at Jesson’s Church Of England Primary School, School Street, Dudley, West Midlands. The contract included the supply and installation of one Motiva™ monopitch straight roof canopy with Alu-Tuff™ aluminium box profile guttering and downpipes which were coated in a matching Dura-coat™ colour finish and installation of glazed panels to side elevations.

Curved Roof Play Area Canopy Installed at St Bartholomew’s Primary School

In combination with our building contractor client our team created a mono canopy for St Bartholomew’s Primary School, Wolverhampton, West Midlands. The full contract involved one Motiva™ Mono monopitch curved roof canopy measuring 8400mm X 5450mm and included for our Alu-Tuff™ aluminium box profile guttering and downpipes which were coated in a matching Dura-coat™ colour finish.

Yardley Wood Community Primary School Create Outdoor Sheltered Space

Our team produced a straight polycarbonate roof canopy at Yardley Wood Community Primary School, Yardley Wood, West Midlands. The full contract involved the supply and installation of one Motiva™ monopitch straight roof canopy measuring 15000mm X 3000mm.

Working with our building contractor client A&S erected a straight polycarbonate roof canopy and four StarSails for Aldersley High School, Codsall, Wolverhampton, West Midlands. The contract included the supply and installation of one Motiva™ duopitch straight roof wall fixed canopy measuring 19700mm X 2400mm with Alu-Tuff™ aluminium box profile guttering and downpipes in matching Dura-coat™ colour finish and four Maxima™ StarSail tensile waterproof fabric structures each supported on a single upright measuring 6000mm X 6000mm.
