When Ludlow Infant School got in touch, looking to add cover to their outdoor play area we knew exactly what they needed. Using a Motiva Mono at 20000mm x 4000mm in a smart Green (RAL 6032) with Opal roofing we have given the school a whole new space.

The problem with outdoor play areas for schools is that they’re reliant on good weather. Until we figure out a successful sundance, we know that these spaces can become unused for much of the year.

Why schools should encourage lessons to be taken outdoors and what actions they can take to ensure this can help all-year-round

Classrooms have long been the environment of choice for a huge amount of schools, but the perks of outdoor learning are quickly being noticed. You might possibly think that it’s not feasible, especially with the irregular British weather, but with a canopy, teaching outside can become a reality. With many measurements available for numerous applications, any school can install a canopy to change any outdoor space into a new kind of classroom.

But now Ludlow Infant School has a wonderful space they can use all-year-round, with their Headteacher remarking that ‘The canopy has given us the freedom to use our outdoor classroom whatever the weather.’ How fantastic is that?

Working with a specialist firm of architects our engineers made a straight polycarbonate roof canopy for Hollinswood Primary School Telford, Shropshire. The full contract involved one Motiva™ monopitch straight roof canopy measuring 12000mm X 11000mm including Alu-Tuff™ aluminium box profile guttering and downpipes in matching Dura-coat™ colour finish. Also the supply and installation of one glazed panel from the top of the existing building to the top of the canopy.

Working with our building contractor client our team designed a straight polycarbonate roof canopy in St Laurence Primary School – Ludlow Jockeyfield, Ludlow, Shropshire.

Colourful School Shelters Designed for Ark Day Nursery

Working with our building contractor client our team built four canopies at Ark Day Nursery Pontesbury, Shrewsbury, Shropshire. Full details are: the supply and installation of four canopies. One Motiva™ monopitch straight roof canopy measuring 7500mm X 3000mm, one Motiva™ monopitch straight roof canopy measuring 9450mm X 3000mm, one Motiva™ monopitch straight roof canopy measuring 16500mm X 3000mm and one Motiva™ Cantilever straight roof canopy measuring 3000mm X 1650mm. In collaboration with a specialist firm of architects our team designed a straight polycarbonate roof canopy with side panels in Ellesmere Co-Op 25-29 Cross Street, Ellesmere, Shropshire. The full contract involved one bespoke Motiva™ Linear canopy including Alu-Tuff™ aluminium box profile guttering and downpipes in matching Dura-coat™ colour finish and fitted steel framed polycarbonate side panels.

Meole Brace CE Primary School Add Canopy to Play Area

Working for our building contractor client our team erected a straight polycarbonate roof canopy for Meole Brace CE Primary School Meole Brace, Shrewsbury, Shropshire. Working with a specialist architectural practice A&S built a straight polycarbonate roof canopy in St Lawrence Primary School Preston-Upon-The-Wealdmoors, Telford, Shropshire. The job involved one Motiva™ monopitch straight roof canopy and included for our Alu-Tuff™ aluminium box profile guttering and downpipes which were coated in a matching Dura-coat™ colour finish.
