Parkstone Grammar is an incredibly popular girls school for 11-18 year olds. At Parkstone, girls get an amazing education and are encouraged to succeed in areas such as music, theatre, sport, speaking and charitable opportunities.

Basically, Parkstone Grammar is helping to give their girls the kind of confidence they can use to make a real difference in the world. So watch out, they’re going to be in charge soon!

But at Parkstone Grammar they don’t only create an amazing curriculum for their students, they also create the kind of spaces that give their students variety.

So when they contacted A&S Landscape it was to install an outdoor dining canopy, giving their girls the chance to spend more time outside and in the fresh air.

Is alfresco dining a privilege or essential to students?

There are many proven benefits to alfresco dining as a part of the school day. As school children spend the majority of the day in a classroom setting, it is integral that they are given time to breathe at lunchtime. In spending this break in the fresh air, it not only promotes a relaxing atmosphere but can also decrease levels of hyperactivity in a student. If a pupil is forced to spend their break inside, it can echo the classroom environment and prevent them from taking a sufficient amount of time to relax. Eating outdoors is also an extremely sociable activity, unconfined by the dining hall setting students can talk with different year groups freely.

We installed a large Maxima Tepee, actually a double unit, to a size of 12000mm x 6000mm, with blue steelwork (RAL 5002) and beige fabric that looks smart and attractive and leaves a softer silhouette with less hard lines. We also added a tepee canopy to Bemrose Primary School in Derby. This playful but functional canopy means that rain never has to stop students venturing outside whilst also providing high-quality sun protection during the summer.

Two Polycarbonate Shelters Designed for Farmborough C Of E VC Primary School

Working for the contractor A&S erected two straight polycarbonate roof canopies for Farmborough C Of E Vc Primary School, Farmborough, Bath, Somerset. The job involved the supply and installation of one Motiva™ monopitch straight roof canopy measuring 8150mm X 2500/3400mm and 4500mm X 1900mm. One Motiva™ monopitch straight roof canopy measuring 3300mm X 2500mm, both included for our Alu-Tuff™ aluminium box profile guttering and downpipes which were coated in a matching Dura-coat™ colour finish.

St Nicholas Primary School Add Two Multicoloured Canopies

In collaboration with the contractor A&S made two straight polycarbonate roof canopies for St Nicholas Primary School, Radstock, North East Somerset. The contract included the supply and installation of one Motiva™ monopitch straight roof canopy measuring 24600mm X 2000mm and the supply and installation of one Motiva™ monopitch straight roof canopy measuring 10891mm X 2000mm, both included for our Alu-Tuff™ aluminium box profile guttering and downpipes in matching Dura-coat™ colour finish.

Bridgwater College Academy Add Straight Roof Canopy to Campus

In collaboration with our building contractor client we erected a straight polycarbonate roof canopy in Bridgwater College Academy Parkwaybridgwater, Parkway, Bridgwater, Somerset. The full contract involved the supply and installation of one Motiva™ monopitch straight roof canopy and included for our Alu-Tuff™ aluminium box profile guttering and downpipes in matching Dura-coat™ colour finish.

Green Fabric Umbrella Canopy Designed for Ashcott Playing Fields

In collaboration with this prestigious client our engineers built a playground umbrella for Ashcott Playing Fields Ashcott, Somerset. The full contract involved one Maxima™ waterproof Umbrella structure supported on a single upright measuring 4000mm X 4000mm.

Innovation Centre Add Straight Roof Canopy to Create Outside Shelter

In collaboration with a well-known architect our team built a straight polycarbonate roof canopy at Innovation Centre The Bath And West Showground, Shepton Mallet, Somerset. The full contract involved the supply and installation of one Motiva™ monopitch straight roof canopy measuring 4600mm X 2400mm.

In combination with our building contractor client we built roofing to canopies in Northgate Primary School, Northgate, Bridgewater, Somerset. The full contract involved standalone glazed canopies Motiva™ Linear Monopitch Canopy, include for all joints, waterproofing, jointing, rainwater goods.
