Squirrel Grey - RAL NO. 7000
Opal
The King’s School in Macclesfield, Cheshire wanted to add two covered walkways to their fantastic facilities to shield pupils walking outdoors between buildings and classrooms from the rainy British weather. They needed to complement their modern architecture and be long enough to provide adequate coverage. A&S Landscape was thrilled to be contacted by this institution and endeavoured to offer them a brilliant solution from their selection of canopies.
Following detailed discussions about the shelter options, The King’s School in Macclesfield settled on the popular Motiva Linear™. They requested that the first of their canopies be built to measure 54630mm X 3000mm and the second to 41210mm X 3000mm, which would provide a great deal of covered space for busy students making their way to lessons in the rain or wind. This monopitch (asymmetric) straight roof variant model is ideal for walkways, and its solid steel design with a Dura-coat™ finish allows it to maintain its excellent quality for many years. And, when searching for the right colour combination, simplicity was at the front of the school’s mind. They chose Opal polycarbonate roofs and Squirrel Grey steelwork which matched the existing architecture and looked both modern and stylish. A&S Landscape thought that this was an excellent decision and that the classic feel reflected the institution’s long history.
The pupils and staff at The King’s School in Macclesfield were delighted with their new pair of covered walkways. Students now don’t have to worry about getting wet when travelling to their next lessons, as the shelters offer fantastic protection from the rain. The Opal roofs bring even more brightness to the outdoor areas and the school was very happy with their choice of model.
The King’s School in Macclesfield is an independent school that teaches children aged from just three, all the way up to eighteen years old. They operate within three smaller divisions to accommodate this wide range of students and are proud of their history which stretches back for more than five centuries. They say on their website that they want children to love learning and become well-rounded individuals, so they offer everything from regular sporting activities to opportunities to volunteer in remote parts of the world.
The school is located on an 80-acre site in Macclesfield in rural Cheshire. Macclesfield is home to the Macclesfield Festival and Barnaby Arts Festival, plus the famous Silk Museum. The town is situated between the Peak District and the Cheshire Plain, so pupils can enjoy beautiful local countryside, canals and woodland right on their doorsteps. A&S Landscape enjoyed working with The King’s School in Macclesfield and is pleased to know that everyone at the institution is enjoying the benefits of their shelters.
No two companies or organisations ever have exactly the same requirements, so why would they have exactly the same canopy? There are many different types and models you can choose from to create the right covered walkway for you.
The Motiva Linear™ provides excellent protection with its straight roof design, as well as lots of opportunities for personalisation with multicoloured polycarbonate sheets. You can adjoin it to your existing buildings to cover multiple entrances. If you like the look of curved roof canopies, the Motiva Duo™ is a great option; it can be a freestanding structure that can also function as an outdoor classroom gazebo, and it can easily link buildings as an enclosed shelter. Or, you might want to consider a bespoke Maxima canopy for a unique canopy solution. These allow customers to have even more creative control over character, colours and dimensions, and they come in fun, exciting shapes that are ideal for schools’ outdoor areas.
