Willerby Parish Council Playpark in the East Riding of Yorkshire Adds Shade Sail

What was the project brief?

Willerby Parish Council Playpark in Willerby wanted a shade sail to create a sheltered area for children visiting the park and their families. It needed to offer effective protection in rain or wind and relief in the summer sun, be a safe structure for youngsters to play around, and have a bright, exciting design to encourage a cheerful atmosphere. The council contacted us about fulfilling this brief and we knew exactly how to make it a reality.

What was our shade sail solution?

We discussed the benefits of several different models with Willerby Parish Council and this led to them choosing to install a Maxima StarSail™ at the playpark. With a fun, trendy design that combines the look of a shade sail and an umbrella canopy, we thoroughly approved of this decision. The team also picked out Signal Yellow steelwork and a Victoria Blue fabric roof; these contrasting colours made the shade sail an eye-catching feature that inspired positivity. The addition of a post protector pad also made sure that children would stay safe while enjoying their time in the park, and the 5000mm X 5000mm canopy specifications were large enough to shield families in all sorts of weather.

What was the result of the shelter?

The new shade sail looks fantastic in the Willerby Parish Council Playpark – like it’s always been there, offering relief from the elements for any family spending some quality time together. The fabric roof does an excellent job of keeping people cool in the sun and dry in the rain, and the colourful design does wonders for the mood of children and adults alike. We were glad to hear that the canopy was a hit at the playpark and that it will help local people to make the most of the facility throughout the year.

The contract included the supply and installation of one Motiva™ monopitch straight roof canopy measuring 19680mm X 4000mm and included for three electrically operated roller shutter door(s) to front elevation and glazed panels to side/front elevation.

Large Canopies Designed for Hessle Academy

We constructed three Maxima StarSail™ canopies in Hessle Academy Community Trust, Tranby House, Heads Lane, East Yorkshire. The job involved three Maxima StarSail™ tensile waterproof fabric structure supported on a single upright measuring 8000mm X 8000mm.

St Mary’s CE Primary School Add Straight Roof Shelter

We produced a straight polycarbonate roof canopy in St Mary’s CE Primary School, Beverley, East Riding of Yorkshire. The job involved the supply and installation of one Motiva™ monopitch straight coloured polycarbonate roof canopy measuring 5000mm X 5000mm and included for our Alu-Tuff™ aluminium box profile guttering and downpipes in matching Dura-coat™ colour finish.
