That’s a beautiful idea that can drive their students forward.

It also shows confidence, that they know who they are and who they want to be. Which you don’t need the website to find out, it’s written all over their campus in the smart and bold design.

To add to this design, Finham School were looking for some additional outdoor shade for a seating area. A&S Landscape was brought in to add some Maxima Umbrellas to bring them shade and style at the same time.

We installed three Maxima Umbrellas to a size of 3000mm x 3000mm each. Together they offer a smart and attractive area of shade in the hot summer months but also carry on a bold and stylish colour scheme.

With dark grey steelwork (RAL 7015) and light blue ‘Lagoon’ fabric, these Maxima Umbrellas pick out a colour that is seen beautifully in the surrounding buildings.

Together this means that the confident and attractive style seen throughout campus is carried on and even built upon by the new Maxima Umbrellas and means that Finham School remains as inspiring as ever.

If you’re interested in adding some attractive shade to your school then take a look at our full gallery of Maxima Umbrellas here. After that, if you have any questions just get in touch and a member of our design team can have a proposal to you the very next day.

How can learning outside help children with their academic performance and how can schools facilitate this?

Classrooms have long been the location of choice for the majority of schools, but the advantages of outdoor learning are quickly being recognised. You could potentially think that it’s not feasible, especially with the irregular British weather, but with a shelter, teaching outdoors can become a reality. With a large number of configurations available for varying uses, any school can install a shelter to develop any outdoor area into a new sort of classroom.

For pupils, new environments can motivate and delight, causing an increased potential to pick up new information. At a young age, conventional classrooms can provide meagre stimulation for students and educational growth can become stagnant. By exploring the use of outdoor teaching, children can find different and stimulating ways of learning. Fresh air, and the ability to teach in a much larger space, can open up new doors to the method that lessons are taught and the tasks which can be performed.
