Clear Roof Canopy at Myddle Primary School Shropshire

When we were called in to provide this clear roof canopy in Shropshire at Myddle Primary School we had the chance to work with a wonderfully dedicated team who were keen to make sure their school was always doing a brilliant job for its students.

They wanted a covered play area outside a classroom to prevent students from getting wet when the weather was being typically British! To do this they chose a Motiva Mono, a fantastic choice at 9000mm x 2000mm with a clear roof and Blue (RAL5002) Steelwork.

There’s nothing more satisfying than working with a team that want the best and are grateful when you meet their expectations, which is why we were all incredibly proud when the Headteacher of Myddle Primary School told us that if they ever wanted another outdoor canopy for their school then they would not hesitate to work with us again!

“I am writing to thank you for the excellent job of installing a canopy at my school. A&S Landscape liaised very effectively with us. We are extremely pleased with the end product in terms of design, appearance and finish as well as the high quality of the workmanship. If we decide to have another canopy we will not hesitate to use A&S Landscape again.”

We also got to work with St Lawrence Primary School in Shropshire, where we installed a multicoloured polycarbonate roof canopy and Severndale Special School. Read more about similar projects on our blog.

How playing outside regularly can impact upon children’s social and emotional development

A common but under-researched topic of social and emotional development in children is realising the importance of spending time outside and how considerable the effects are. For such a vital component of childhood, the gaps in research here are somewhat astonishing. Not least because, the research that currently exists demonstrates that there is unmistakable evidence that outdoor time, like outdoor play, or outdoor classrooms, has a substantial positive impact on a child’s social and emotional development. These emerging studies come from many disciplines using a vast range of approaches that all lead to the same stance.
