Project – Carisbrooke College add Shade Sails on the Isle of Wight
Product – Maxima Shade Sail
Requirement – Carisbrooke College has a new purpose-built campus. The need for shade and shelter from the elements is something that is very important on the Isle of Wight. Weather can be quite extreme as well as unpredictable, so the more options for the students to have some covered outdoor spaces the better.
Solution – The outdoor space at Carisbrooke College has been completed with two areas of shade sails from the Maxima range at A&S Landscape. The shade sails were installed in waterproof PVC fabric so that they offered protection from the wet as well as sunny weather. The Isle of Wight experiences a wide variety of weather, so these shaded and sheltered areas will mean that students have the option to enjoy the outdoors right throughout the year. The modern design of the shade sails is well aligned with the style of the new building. The blue theme reflects the island nature of the school and the resulting impression is a sleek and modern one. A campus that the teachers and students are rightly very proud of.
Result – The result is students who enjoy more fresh air at break and lunchtimes. Helping them take a well-earned break from studying and preparing them for their next lesson!
