Sharples High School in Bolton add a Covered Area for their Year 7 Pupils

The new Maxima Tepee™ shelter have provided Year 7 pupils at Sharples High School with their own independent area to enjoy during breaktimes, it is usable all year round and has the dual ability to protect from both UV rays in the summer, and also keep the children dry during the wetter months.

What was the project brief?

Sharples High School have an existing relationship with A&S Landscape, having previously worked with us on their bespoke Motiva Duo™ dining canopy; therefore, when looking to design and install a canopy they were excited to work with our team to see which design would work for their area. Sharples High School provide independent covered areas for each year group, providing them with their own space to enjoy during their breaktimes. For this project, we were looking to design a canopy for their pupils in Year 7, the finished canopy features two conjoined Maxima Tepee™ modules, giving the total dimensions of 16000mm X 8000mm . The canopy has a steel frame, and makes use of our Slate Grey Duracoat™ for increased longevity, this has been paired with our Light Grey waterproof fabric roofing. This particular canopy is a great option for schools that are looking to cover a small to medium space; the design features an integral gutter system to keep the area dry, and the high-grade fabric roof is both UV resistant and fire retardant.
