What was the project brief?
Ysgol Gymraeg Cwm Gwyddon is a newly developed school, that has been built to provide for 420 pupils. To provide these pupils with a safe space to play, there was a need for twelve canopies to be situated outside each of their classrooms, as well as an additional canopy to form their entrance.
The final design features twelve of our Motiva Cantilever™ straight roof canopies, with the addition of a completely bespoke entrance canopy variation from our Motiva™ product line. The robust design combines a steel structure with a Window Grey Duracoat™, and a toughened, bronze-tinted, glass roof. The finished look is sleek and modern, and provides vital shelter for the kids to stand under when it is raining or to protect against sunburn. The canopies can also be used to shelter each class’s outdoor equipment from the elements.
